GENERATOR #3: Queering Space!

GENERATOR #3: Queering Space! presents queer perspectives for discussion as a one-room exhibition
What is space, who shapes it and whose themes are visible in it? This concerns the following questions, for example: Which monuments in public spaces actually stand for diversity? Why do we need safe spaces? How do gender stereotypes limit the space in our minds – and how does all this affect the approach to art in museums?
To address these issues and many more, the space will be designed over a project period of several months in close collaboration with the queer urban society and Salzburg’s LGBTIQ* community. This will take place in cooperation with HOSI Salzburg, a human rights organisation and the competence centre for sexual, gender and romantic diversity in the city and province of Salzburg and neighbouring Bavaria and Upper Austria.
In addition to the exhibition opening on 10 October 2024, there will be two exhibition talks at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg Mönchsberg site.
