The music of Middle-earth in Salzburg: a film music orchestra concert
The fascinating world of hobbits and elves is brought to life with a musical and visual performance of “Lord of the Rings” in Salzburg. The two-hour musical programme by the Lords of the Rings – a symphony orchestra, a choir and soloists – will present the award-winning music from Howard Shores’ famous film trilogy. The Lords of the Sound are also known for their live performances of various soundtracks by film music composer Hans Zimmer. From the cheerful melodies of the Hobbits to the dark sounds of the Orcs of Mordor and the emotional songs of the Elves: the concert promises to capture the adventurous atmosphere of Middle-earth and bring it to Salzburg. The author J.R.R. Tolkien became world-famous through his “Lord of the Rings” books. Composer Howard Shore created a critically acclaimed masterpiece with the soundtrack for the films.
