Avant-garde cinema in the open air in the garden of the Salzburger Kunstverein

Summer is the best time to enjoy cinema films outdoors, especially in the evening. The temperatures drop to a pleasant level again and it is still lukewarm. So it’s the best time to take a picnic blanket and something to eat and enjoy great films outdoors with your friends.

The Salzburg Summer Academy’s Sunset Cinema offers a wonderful setting for this. On 14.08. and 28.08., the Salzburger Kunstverein invites you to an open-air cinema with free admission in the evening. Sunset Kino 2024 offers a unique mix of avant-garde cinema in the open air in the garden of the Salzburger Kunstverein.

Curator Karol Radziszewski is in charge of the Sunset Cinema on 28 August. In the context of the Pride Festival Salzburg, his focus is on the thematisation of queer life and queer love.

Many of the works shown on this evening were created in collaboration with the ongoing Queer Archiveproject. Both evenings offer the opportunity to immerse yourself in different cinematic worlds in a cosy late-night atmosphere. (sb)
