Scotland, 1952: The young doctor and beekeeper Dr Jean Markham returns to her home town. One day
single mother Lydia comes to her practice with her son Charly. The two women hit it off right away and become friends. Soon friendship turns into something more, but the bourgeois environment is not yet ready for a love affair between two women.
The Honey Garden, based on the bestseller of the same name by Fiona Shaw, is a film about love against all odds and a sensitive portrait of the mores of the 1950s.
