Author Carolin Schairer presents her new book (romance novel).

Lilly has her future crystal clear: she wants to follow her great passion and open a professional riding stable together with her partner Valerie. Unlike Lilly, Valerie has the wherewithal for such a project, because she belongs to the upper class and is a successful show jumper.

But Lilly’s dream is thwarted: Valerie’s father and actual sponsor of the project insists that Lilly first gain experience in a down-to-earth profession, after all, she completed her business studies with top marks. And so Lilly finds herself working as a trainee in a consulting firm instead of in the riding stable. Meanwhile, Valerie is training far away in Florida.

On her first day at work, Lilly meets her colleague Jara Winter, a consultant in top management with a reputation for being ice-cold and moody. After a short time, Lilly sees behind the façade of this unapproachable woman. They become closer. However, Lilly is still attached to Valerie, although she increasingly treats her like an accessory. When Jara strikes a blow that inevitably shakes Lilly’s image of her, suddenly nothing is safe any more.

“With my novels I want to offer enjoyable reading hours, whether my reader loves women or not. The themes of my books are as irreducible to sexual preferences as life is. As far as lesbian love is concerned, it is important to me to show that it also exists outside the scene. And that it makes little sense to shake off heterosexual norms in order to slip back into a corset of lesbian “do’s and don’ts”,” says Carolin Schairer in an interview on her website.
