‘A feast for the eyes!’ Under the motto ‘Essthetik’, the eat & meet culinary festival 2025 attracts local and foreign gourmets to Salzburg. From 7 to 30 March, many restaurateurs in the old town of Salzburg invite you to take a look behind the scenes of food preparation.

Cooking is an art form, especially at this ‘essthetical’ culinary festival. In March, Salzburg’s chefs show how to best use this art form to showcase vegetables, tartlets or burgers.

A hands-on festival

Tastings are always the focus of the ‘eat & meet’ festival. This year is no different. Experts share interesting facts about certain dishes or ingredients while you savour the food.

From matcha to spices and liqueurs – a wonderful opportunity to take your taste buds on a journey and learn something new at the same time.

Fancy donning an apron and learning from a master chef? Then the ‘eat & meet’ offers various cooking courses where you can broaden your horizons in the kitchen. For example, the cooking course ‘Cooking in the Cavern’ by the culinary company Edelweiss Cooking School. A culinary journey across Europe in four courses. Not only your taste buds will be tickled, but you will also take home new inspiration and recipes to try out at home.

In addition to unique flavours, the presentation of the dishes is in the foreground this year. Eating should be a beautiful experience, which can also be celebrated with loved ones in the way it is presented.

As always, it comes down to good taste and presentation, because as we all know, you eat with your eyes first!
