Let’s do the Time Warp again!
To this day, it is still a catchy tune and the starting point for a journey into the other me. The Rocky Horror Show has been thrilling generations for more than 50 years with its frivolous story. Let’s do the Time Warp again!
In the early 1970s, British actor and author Richard O’Brien came up with this musical full of glamour, sex and breaking taboos. It premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London in June 1973.
The Rocky Horror Show deals with topics such as the fun of sex, love and trans identities. The young bridal couple Brad and Janet end up in a castle after a flat tyre in a thunderstorm and enter a new world. Social moral concepts are questioned – always with a sense of fun and a certain tongue-in-cheek.
From flat tyre to transvestite
Today, Brad, Janet and, above all, the main character Frank N Furter remind us to discover our own erotic thoughts and desires instead of suppressing them. For 50 years, Richard O’Brien’s story has been bringing generations together in an uninhibited atmosphere to experience a night without taboos.
That’s possible from 22 December at the Salzburg State Theatre. Until 6 January 2025, Rocky, Eddie, RiffRaff and co. will be telling their story of lust and love on stage. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the musical with your friends and say ‘Let’s do the Time Warp again!’
A little tip from personal experience: tickets for the musical make the perfect Christmas present. So don your fishnet stockings and red feather boa, and never forget: ‘Don’t dream it. Be it.’ Sebastian Brandstätter

She had affairs with both men and women while she was married to her husband. Now the Salzburg State Theatre is bringing "Frida's World" to the stage as a ballet from October. [Read more]
The Salzburg Christmas Market 2024
Christmas will be over again in three months. So it's time to think about how you want to spend the Advent season. The Salzburg Christmas market on Domplatz and Residenzplatz squares offers a very idyllic opportunity.
