18.11.2022 Tonight (18.11.) leather and fetish fans meet for the tenth anniversary of “HOSI goes Fetish“. Ten years ago Gernot and Herwig founded this evening, which has become an institution. And fittingly for the tenth anniversary, it will be the last of its kind in the old HOSI location at Gabelsbergerstraße 26. Because the HOSI Salzburg is in the process of moving – to Franz-Josef-Straße 22. On Sunday (20.11.) it’s “Sexy Sunday Afternoon” again. From 4 p.m. you can end the weekend on an erotic note at the underwear party in the Dark Eagle. After the success of October, we can’t wait to see who finds their way to the heated cellar at Paracelsus-Straße 11 this time. The Salzburg Christmas Market was officially opened yesterday and from Monday to Thursday (21 to 24.11) the HOSI Salzburg invites you to “Punsch mit der HOSI” from 2 to 9 pm. This means drinking punch in front of the medieval backdrop of the Alter Markt for a good cause, because the HOSI needs financial support for its move into the new clubhouse. So: Monday to Thursday next week, be sure to make a detour to the Old Town. And when the market closes, the hosts of the Mexxx, the Fungo Bar and the Dark Eagle (Wed+Thurs) will be happy to welcome night owls.

30.09.2022 Tomorrow October begins, which has a lot to offer in terms of queer events in Salzburg. On Saturday 1 October, the next queer city tour with Roman Forisch starts at 11 am. The tour starts at the HOSI bar and goes through the Andräviertel, across the Salzach river into the old town. Here you can learn about queer history and anecdotes from the last thousand years of Salzburg’s city history. In the evening, from 6 pm, Gigi La Pajette invites you to Gigi’s Rosa Stadl. Together with four Austrian drag queen colleagues, the stars of the last Pride Night will give us a hearty Oktoberfest at Steinlechner. On Friday 7 October, women from Salzburg and the surrounding area will meet for Ladies Night at the HOSI Bar with hosts Astrid and Doris. The new Sexy Sunday Afternoon series starts on 16 October. Wolfgang from Dark Eagle offers the new underwear party on the third Sunday in October, November and December. So from 4 pm on Sunday you can end the weekend in a relaxing way. LMC Salzburg goes Fetish is the motto of the tried and tested fetish meeting on the 3rd Friday of the month (21.10.) with Gernot and Herwig. Probably the last time in the old rooms of the HOSI Bar, because the HOSI will be moving soon, probably in November. More about that later. On 28 and 29 October (Friday and Saturday) the Narrencastl will once again become the Magic Garage. Ryder Goodenheart and colleagues have been delighting the audience for months with their unpretentious performance. That’s why there will also be a Magic Garage party for Halloween. More on this later and whether the HOSI will have a ghost party on 31 October despite the stress of moving. October in Salzburg is once again full of delightful queer events – many good reasons for a trip to the beautiful city on the Salzach.

05.09.2022 5,800 participants at this year’s Pride are announced by the HOSI Salzburg on the FB page of Pride Week Salzburg. Where this number comes from is not mentioned. But it could fit. At the main station it was already very clear, rainbows as far as the eye can see. The square was completely full of people who were looking forward to the parade and wanted to help the rainbow of lifestyles become visible. The parade procession was more than twice as long as last year. So an outright doubling of the number of participants is realistic. Against the background of the attacks on trans people that have just taken place in Münster and Bremen, this is an encouraging sign. The Salzburg Pride 2022 in review.

03.09.2022 Today is the day of the days of the CSD Salzburg 2022. From 11 a.m. you can groove to the day with DJ and vegetarian food at Furo Salzburg and lay a foundation for the rest of the day. At 12 o’clock the queer city tour starts at the HOSI Salzburg. From 4 p.m. the participants of the CSD parade will gather in front of Salzburg’s main train station. The parade will follow the same route as before, except that this time it will not go through Priesterhausgasse to Platzl but via Markartplatz past the Salzburg Landestheater to Staatsbrücke. The parade ends around 7 pm at the ARGEkultur and goes seamlessly into the Pride Night. DJ ZE613Hx will be playing outside until 10 pm. Drag queen Ginger Red from Vienna will play in the big hall. And in the basement DJ Ambjörn Söderberg from Oslo, Mr. Leather Norway 2021 and DJ of the year of the Antwerp label Darkland, will play. The afterparties will take place at Mexxx Gaybar and Dark Eagle.

24.08.2022: Queer Voices is the radio show of HOSI Salzburg, where voices from the queer community have their say. Queer Voices focuses on the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, inter*, queer and asexual – in short: LGBTIQA* people. Next Friday, 26.08. Gernot Lindner, Cornelia Maier and Klaus Horvat-Unterdorfer from the organizing team of Pride Week Salzburg will present the upcoming CSD at Queer Voices. Pride Week starts next Monday 29.08. and ends on Sunday 4.09.. For more visibility and diversity of queer lifestyles in the beautiful on the Salzach. This will be the CSD Salzburg 2022.

08.08.2022 I would like to focus on two special exhibitions today. Generations of Everybody” runs until 18 August in the Stadtgalerie Zwergelgarten. In this show of graduation works by art students of the Maastricht Toneelacademie, the room with pictures by professor Erika Landertinger is particularly noteworthy. 60 ink drawings on wrapping paper show a caricature of Everyman, ironic, frivolous and lustful. The pictures are reminiscent of George Grosz and his socially critical paintings and drawings, created in the early 20th century. Some of them can be seen at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg until 11 September. The exhibition “Schmutz und Schund” (Dirt and Trash) focuses on the dime novels of the time, which are a reflection of the moral abysses of the early 20th century. The Salzburg Festival was also founded at that time.
