Salzburg Queer Update

30.08.2020 Next weekend, the HOSI Salzburg offers the CSD Salzburg Rainbowmarket. The rainbow symbol was designed by the American artist Gilbert Baker for Gay Freedom Day 1978, the forerunner of today’s Gay Pride events. It is considered a symbol of lesbian and gay self-confidence and diversity of lifestyles. The proceeds of the Rainbowmarket will go to the Hosi Salzburg, which this year has been hit hard by Corona on the income side and still organizes the Pride – in the 40th year of its existence.

At the Rainbowmarket there is almost everything that Pride participants can need for a successful Gay Pride outfit. Very important this year: protective mouth-nose masks in rainbow design. Here the HOSI Linz supports the HOSI Salzburg.

The Rainbowmarket is open on Friday, 4.09. from 7 p.m. in front of the HOSI Salzburg in Gabelsbergerstr. 26. And on Saturday 5.09. from 4 p.m. at the main station, where the Pride parade will line up.

With the support of Löwenherz – die Buchhandlung für Schwule und Lesben in Wien, Hosi Linz Zentrum and Grüne Andersrum Salzburg.

28.08.2020 The day before yesterday, Klaus Horvath Unterdorfer from the Orga-Taem of the Salzburg Pride explained in the regular program “Queer Voices” of the HOSI Salzburg for one hour in conversation with moderator Christian Geroldinger, how the Gay Pride will go over this year in Salzburg. In addition to detailed program descriptions, the Corona issue was of course also discussed, from spacing rules to mask use. If everyone takes this seriously, it will work out. Just buy a rainbow mask at the rainbow market on Friday 4.09. from 7pm in front of the HOSI or before the parade starts on Saturday from 4pm (5€). Here is the link to the show:

27.08.2020 The CSD will also be a big come-together of the European leather and fetish scene. More than 15 sash wearers, so elected Mr. and Mrs. of the European clubs in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland and others have announced and will also participate in the parade in their outfit. They stand up for tolerance and against homophobia – which is still eminently important. See you in Salzburg from September 4 to 6!

Queer, proud and visible!
