The book has a queer protagonist and deals with issues such as bullying, suicide and self-harm.
Lena is fifteen and likes girls. She feels like she doesn’t belong anywhere. She is bullied at school. Only her best friend Ines stands by her. When Lena’s love Maja betrays her, Lena’s world finally collapses. She slashes her wrists and barely survives. Lena is placed in a psychiatric institution for adolescents and young adults. There she meets Josie, a girl who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, and Lena realises that being different is not so bad.
