Salzburg is running! The 2024 Running Festival is an atmospheric running week full of exciting challenges in picturesque scenic surroundings.
In May, we recommend packing Running shoes for a trip to Salzburg. From the 9th to the 12th of the month, the running festival gets the city moving. Even if the first thing that springs to mind when you hear the words festival and Salzburg is opera, the running festival, the city’s largest mass sports event since 2004, brings a completely different (running) rhythm to the streets of the city of Mozart.
Various running events spread over four days, such as the annual Salzburg Marathon, offer the opportunity to get to know the iconic old town from a completely different perspective with runners from all over the world. During the festival, runners can explore the streets that are usually reserved for buses and cars. Past picturesque buildings with the Salzburg mountain scenery in the background – you don’t get to run in a setting like this every day!
