Anima – My Father’s Clothes

Queer film evening by DAS Kino and HOSI Salzburg
“There are very few films that think about gender diversity in a smarter, funnier and more diverse way than this one.” writes epd-Film in an insightful and well-researched film review.
A long-kept family secret comes to light when Uli is given her “inheritance” by her mother after the death of her father – a cardboard box. The contents: high heels, artificial fingernails, make-up, a wig. All of a sudden, Uli sees her own family, her father, herself and the society in which she grew up with new eyes.
A touching true story about family secrets, identity and the all-conquering power of love – told as a tragicomic rollercoaster ride through animated and documentary imagery.
DAS Kino and HOSI Salzburg will show the film, which has already won various awards, on 20 December in the series “Queerer Filmabend”.
