The Generali Foundation’s film and video collection is one of the most important international collections of media art from the 1960s onwards
Since its establishment, the Generali Foundation has built up one of the most important international collections of media art from the 1960s onwards – with a focus on experimental, media-reflexive film and video art, political film as well as feminist and performance-based video works. It includes all films and videos by artists such as Gottfried Bechtold, Valie Export, Dan Graham, Harun Farocki, Martha Rosler and Heimo Zobernig.
The media library at the Generali Foundation Study Centre makes a large number of these films and videos accessible to researchers and all interested visitors at any time. In addition, important events that have taken place at the Generali Foundation since the 1990s – lectures, symposia, talks with artists – can be viewed. Until 15.09.2024 at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg with focus events.
