An Italian exploration of aesthetic foundations. DJ Max Cooper at the 2024 Easter Festival
“Opening up the elitist festival to a wider audience was Nikolaus Bachler’s declared aim for his first year as the sole artistic director of the Salzburg Easter Festival. On Thursday, he achieved this not only with the Westbam show, but also earlier in the evening – once again in the Felsenreitschule – with the world premiere of a dance theatre piece.” This is how the Salzburger Nachrichten described the expanded repertoire of the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2023.
This combination will continue in 2024. The world-famous British DJ and video artist Max Cooper will transform the Felsenreitschule into a sea of sounds and visual impressions. For the Salzburg Easter Festival, the British artist has been commissioned to work with „Seme“ and the sound of the south and presents one of his live performances, which are always an audiovisual experience, acclaimed by audiences and the press alike. In 2022, Cooper performed at the Acropolis in Athens.
