Dance and music festival with experimental forms of expression
From 03 to 12 October, this year’s tanz_house festival will bring a mix of music and dance performances to the stages of ARGEkultur and SZENE Salzburg. With a total of 17 programme items, the festival is dedicated to the artistic response of “moving forward” despite the crises of our time. Through their art, the organisers want to convey to the audience that – despite difficult moments in current contemporary history – things can always move forward.
The programme offers a mixture of music and dance. Among other things, you can look forward to the multicultural and multilingual musical performance by Yorgos Pervolarakis and to socially critical dance pieces such as “My body a stranger that protects me that kills me” by the dance ensemble of the Stadttheater Gießen. The tanz_house sees itself as a platform for contemporary dance art in Salzburg. The activities of the tanz_house association are based on two main axes: the choreographic production centre tanz_house studio, located in the ARGEkultur, and the tanz_house festival, a two-week national and international festival in October that focuses on Salzburg premieres by tanz_house artists.
