Salzburg’s drag icon Gigi La Pajette brought great drag performance, Oktoberfest music and an excellent atmosphere to Salzburg’s Urbankeller with her Rosa Stadl. That was Gigi’s Oktoberfest 2023.

Once again, Salzburg’s most famous drag queen Gigi La Pajette invited us to the glamorous Gigis Rosa Stadl at the Urbankeller in Salzburg. Sexy stable boys in traditional leather trousers, drag queens in good spirits around Gigi La Palette, great music and excellent food from the Urbankeller’s kitchen made for a great time that you won’t find anywhere else so quickly. As usual at Gigi’s Stadl, guests could have their photo taken in front of a traditional pink background.

The first highlight of the evening was the beer tapping, which was performed by the Queen of the evening herself. The free beer that followed ensured an exuberant mood among the guests.

In the election of Mr./Mrs. Stadl-Wadl, the volunteers from the audience had to solve various tasks: nailing wooden blocks, sawing trees and holding a beer mug, which tested their stamina. The last task was then, of course, to empty the filled beer mug as quickly as possible in a drinking contest.

Before and after the exciting Stadl-Wadl election, the drag queens entertained the audience with show interludes adapted from chansons of the musical world. Mademoiselle Giselle as DJ watched over the right musical flow and got the audience dancing herself during the breaks.

With her Rosa Stadl, Gigi La Pajette once again showed how well glamorous drag performances go together with traditional lederhosen and dirndl. An evening full of good humour gives us hope that the next pink Stadl will soon make a stop in Salzburg. On 11 November, however, the Rosa Stadt will first be held in Graz at the Marienbräu.
