The HOSI moves

On 30.11. the HOSI Salzburg in Gabelsbergerstraße 26 is history. 13 years of history of work for homoemancipation in the city of Mozart. With Putin go home! the musical “Hair” from 1968 could be translated into the present day. The war in Ukraine makes the protest musical against the Vietnam War in the mid-1960s red-hot again. The Salzburg Landestheater thus brings a very contemporary musical to the stage until 20 November. [Read more]

“I was very pleased”

“I was there, mega party” writes a user on the Facebook page of gaysalzburg.at about Gigi LaPajette’s Oktoberfest “Gigi’s Rosa Stadl” at the Steinlechner. Gendering in Africa

From 22 October, the Museum der Moderne Salzburg is showing the first comprehensive solo exhibition by African photographer Samuel Fosso. Fosso knows how to document gender-crossing roles and clichés in self-portraits that are of personal and political significance and playfully cross attributions of gender, ethnic origin and social class. [Read more]

No sooner is the most successful Salzburg Pride ever history than Gigi La Pajette launches a new format on 1 October. “Gigi’s Rosa Stadl”, a gay festival in Salzburg. Together with the Queer City Tour, also taking place on 1 October, there are two queer events at the beginning of October that make a trip to the beautiful city on the Salzach worthwhile. [Read more]

Chemsex, prep, sexually transmitted diseases and much more were topics at the lecture last night at the Dark Eagle in Salzburg. As part of Pride Week Salzburg, two experts from the Chemsex Network Vienna were guests and explained facts and figures on the topic in a very entertaining way. Jazz&The City Salzburg 2022

From 13 to 16 October 2022, the Jazz&TheCity jazz festival will transform Salzburg’s old town into an interactive “playground” and will delight friends of contemporary art, jazz music and performance art. A frivolous everyman

The exhibition “Generation of Everybody” is on show at the Zwergelgarten Gallery until 18 August. Theme: Interpretation of the stage plays “Everybody” and “Everybody Dies”, including ink drawings by Erika Landertinger. The audio exhibition accompaniment calls the room the red light district of the overall exhibition. Indeed: with her style, the artist interprets the theme in her very own way. [Read more]

Salzburg gets in the mood for Pride

The press conference on the Salzburg Pride at the arte Hotel Salzburg succeeded in convincingly integrating queer lifeworlds into the reality of the human rights city of Salzburg. The press (TV, print, online) came in large numbers and questions were asked for discussion, which revealed some interesting points of view. [Read more]

Art, Culture & History in July

From mid-July onwards, the Salzburg Festival will start a cultural fireworks display in all cultural areas of the city on the Salzach. Queer Short Film Festival, Gallery Weekend, Queer City Tour: the city pulsates and shows its many facets.
